All told, new car purchases accounted for 47 percent of overall auto sales to Naperville residents, totaling 909 of the 1924 overall auto sales in the month. Toyota and Ford followed Honda to round out the list of the top three auto brands bought new by residents in June. Residents purchased a total of 125 new Honda vehicles, 123 new Toyota cars, and 96 new Ford vehicles in the month.
Used car sales brought in 53 percent of overall auto sales, bringing in 1015 of the 1924 overall car sales. Ford was the most popular brand bought used, totaling 114 sales. Toyota and Chevrolet came in second and third, respectively, in the used car sales category, with 95 and 92 sales.
Over the course of June, 81 percent of purchases by Naperville residents came through a local dealer, while 19 percent were private party transactions. The 81 percent originating from auto dealerships translated to 1567 total dealer sales in the month.
Carmax Auto Superstores (144 sales) sold more used cars to Naperville residents in June than any other dealer, followed by Infiniti of Naperville (33) and Toyota of Naperville (26). The top three auto dealerships selling new cars to Naperville residents in the month were Valley Honda with 76 sales, Toyota of Naperville (75 sales) and Fair Oaks Ford (60).
