Car sales increased 13 percent in Aurora in February on a month-over-month basis, as residents of Aurora purchased 68 more trucks and cars in February than in the previous month.
In the month of February, Chevrolet was the top selling make to Aurora residents with a total of 93 sales. The breakdown of the 93 Chevrolet sales in the month was 11 new and 82 used. Ford and Honda rounded out the top three makes in overall sales (both new and used) with 77 and 58 sales, respectively, during the month.
The previous month, Ford topped the overall auto sales chart for Aurora residents with a total of 75 sales, followed by Honda (63 sales) and Chevrolet (61).
In February, 48 percent of all car sales to Aurora residents came through a local auto dealership, while this share was at 51 percent the previous month. The 48 percent mark in February translated to 283 total sales (and 302 private sales) originating at dealerships, versus 263 total dealer sales (254 private) one month earlier.
Popular auto dealers selling to Aurora residents in February included Carmax Auto Superstores, Valley Honda and Dan Wolf Chevrolet of Naperville. The previous month, Valley Honda, Carmax Auto Superstores and Toyota of Naperville topped the chart of dealerships selling to Aurora residents.
Of the 585 total auto sales in February, 19 percent were new vehicles and 81 percent were used vehicles. The top make bought new in the month was Honda, while the top used make was Chevrolet. The previous month, 76 percent of the 517 total auto purchases by residents were used vehicles. Ford was the top auto brand bought used that month, while Honda was the top auto make purchased new.
